When can the mobile app be used?
The mobile app is limited to participant access in English, French and Spanish language interviews and focus groups at this time. Full details on the status of the mobile access can be found here: itracks mobile devices and Realtime.
By default, app access is enabled for all Realtime projects. This setting can be turned off if you prefer to prevent people from logging in on a smartphone or tablet.
What happens when mobile is enabled?
When the setting is set to allow for mobile access to your project, participants will be prompted to download the mobile app when registering or accessing their activity using a mobile browser. When this setting is not enabled, participants are requested to use their computers and told that mobile browsers are not enabled. The experience for moderators conducting research sessions and observers does not change. Project Managers and Moderator user types that are setting up users have access to additional email variables to directly send participants into activities on their mobile devices.
Email Template Variables
The [DOWNLOADAPPURL] variable, when set in an email template, will send out a unique link to the participant allowing them to download the app or access the activity directly when clicked from the email on their phone.
At this time, we recommend customizing your email templates to include the app download/access link on any project you expect your participants to use the mobile app. Here are instructions on how to customize your email templates for your projects: Creating Project-Specific Email Template
A sample template for mobile interviews can be seen below:

Thank you for agreeing to participate in our upcoming Video Interview on [STARTDATE].
Step 1 - Register for Your Project
Click here to register and log in: [LOGINURL].
When you log in for the first time, you will be asked to create a password. If you forget your password, click the 'Forgot your password?' link on the login page to reset your password.
Your Project ID for this study is [PROJECTSUPPORTID].
Step 2 - If you are using your phone or tablet to complete your interview
Once you have registered, download the itracks Realtime app. In the case where you are not able to download the app immediately, return to this email and access the app using the link below.
This link will be also be used to join the session on your mobile device at the time of your interview.

Recommended Email Reminder
We also recommend that you set a reminder to be sent to every participant accessing the interview via mobile right before their interview. Using the automated reminder system in the itracks platform outline here is the best way to do this: Activity Settings: Setting automated reminders
We have put together this quick example reminder to use for this purpose as well. Reminder email templates can be set up using the same project-specific templates outlined above.
Subject Line: Reminder - Your interview is starting shortly
Dear [FULLNAME]:
This is just a reminder that your video research will be starting at [STARTDATE]. To ensure that everything is working correctly for you please be sure to login at least 15 minutes early.
You will need to join using the mobile app - if you have downloaded the app, the session is accessible via the link below.

App Store Details
If you want to send the app store details separately to participants for any reason, the itracks Realtime app is found in the Apple App store and Google Play store and downloaded like any other app. They can search for 'itracks Realtime' in either of these stores or you can share the links below. Please note that they will still need to be sent their login link noted above to register in the project first.
