In the Project Setup tab of each Board activity there is an Add/Edit Whiteboards section. Click Add/Edit Whiteboards to navigate to the media and link management section.
Once you have clicked on Add/Edit Whiteboards, you will see the following page. This is where you would upload, import, view, edit, and delete media and links for your discussion board.
You can click on Uploaded Files or Links to expand each section individually, or you can click on Expand Media List in the menu bar to expand them both.
Uploading Files
To upload files, you can hover over the Add Media button pictured above and a dropdown will appear where you can select Add Files, or you can click on the Add Files button found in your Uploaded Files library.
Once you have clicked Add Files, you will be shown the window below. You can drag and drop files from your computer to the Drag & drop section, or you can click Browse to browse for files to upload. You may upload one at a time or select multiple files to upload at once. There is also a list of Allowed File Types shown on the upload window.
Once you have selected your file(s), you will see "0 of X attachments uploaded". Click on Upload to begin your file upload.
As your files upload you will then see them and their details such as Display Name, Size, and Date Added listed in the Uploaded Files section.
Managing media files
Once you have added media files to your whiteboard library, you can use the buttons shown below to Preview, Edit, and Delete them.
Preview - this button allows you to preview your file. It will open in a new window when clicked.
Edit - this button allows you to edit the display name shown for this file or to replace it by uploaded a new file. The following window will appear when clicked:
Delete - this button allows you to delete a media file. A window will appear where you must click either Yes or No to confirm deletion.
Adding Links
To add links, you can hover over the Add Media button pictured above and a dropdown will appear where you can select Add Link, or you can click on the button found in your Links library.
Once you have clicked Add Files, you will be shown the window below. Enter the website address in the URL field, and enter the Display Name you would like to be shown to users in your discussion Board to identify the media. Click Save once complete to save your link.
If you are inputting variables into the URL to pass data back into your survey/online exercise you will also need to select the Variable Substitution checkbox in order to ensure the system fills the variables you set up. Click here for an article that includes details on link variable substitution.
Once you have Saved your link, you will find it and its details listed in the Links section. Just as you have the option to manage files in the Uploaded Files section above, you can do so with links.
Preview -this button allows you to preview your link. It will open in a new window when clicked.
Edit - this button allows you to edit the display name shown for this link or to replace it. When clicked, a window just like the Add Link window will appear with the details of the link, where you can edit them as needed.
Delete - this button allows you to delete a media file. A window will appear where you must click either Yes or No to confirm deletion.
Importing Media
You can import all the media from a different project by clicking Import Media.
When you click Import Media, you will be shown the window shown below. Displayed is the Choose a project dropdown menu, and your Free space.
Click on the dropdown menu to select which Board activity you would like to import media from. Once you have selected a discussion board to import the media from, click Import.
The following message will show when the media has been successfully imported to your current Board. You will then find them in the Uploaded Files or Links sections.
Deleting All Media
You can delete all the media from your Board by clicking Delete All Media. Note: This is irreversible once done.
After clicking Delete All Media, you will be shown the following confirmation window to check the "I understand that this action is irreversible." box, after which you can click Yes. If you have mistakenly clicked Delete All Media, you can click No to cancel.
