What does 'Uninfluenced' mean?

The default Question Mode for discussion board questions is Uninfluenced.  This setting allows people to see the responses of other participants BUT participants are required to respond to the question before they do.

In uninfluenced mode a participant will initially see the following when they come to a new question they have not yet answered.

As soon as they answer and click the Post Reply button they then can see and reply to others within the question.
